Sunwell Seals’ spiral wound gaskets come in four main types:
1. **SW600-R (Basic Type)**
This is the standard construction type with reinforced inner and outer diameters using metal layers without filler. It offers improved stability and compression characteristics. Ideal for tongue-and-groove, male-and-female, or grooved-to-flat face flange connections.
2. **SW600-IR (Inner Ring Type)**
Features a solid inner metal ring that acts as a compression stopper. It helps prevent solid accumulation, reduces fluid turbulence, and minimizes erosion and damage between the flange bore and the gasket’s inner diameter. Best suited for male-and-female pipe flanges.
3. **SW600-CG (Outer Ring Type)**
An outer ring provides additional radial strength to prevent gasket blowout and serves as a compression limiter. The outer ring also aids in easy installation by aligning with the bolts. Suitable for flat face and raised face flanges. For classes 900 and above, an internal ring is recommended.
4. **SW600-CGI (Inner & Outer Rings Type)**
Combines both inner and outer rings to provide dual compression limiting features. It protects the flange face from corrosion in the annular space and is ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature applications. Recommended for Class 900 and above, especially when dealing with corrosive or toxic media.
