Car owners must take "7 responsibilities" in car maintenance

(1) Drive your vehicle responsibly by avoiding excessive speeds and overloading. Maintain a steady pace, minimize sudden acceleration, and drive smoothly to reduce unnecessary strain on the engine and improve fuel efficiency. (2) Regular maintenance is essential for keeping your car in optimal condition and ensuring low emissions. Even cars that meet emission standards at the factory can develop issues over time due to wear and tear. Routine checks of the ignition system, air intake, and choke valve are crucial. Replace filters regularly, avoid using low-quality oil, and ensure no oil burning occurs. Timely repairs of the OBD (On-Board Diagnostic) system are also vital. Unlike annual inspections, which offer limited control over emissions, the OBD system continuously monitors your vehicle's performance. If it detects a problem, it will alert you immediately, allowing for prompt repairs. The Euro III standard heavily relies on the effective use of the OBD system. (3) Use high-quality motor oil and clean fuel to maintain engine health and reduce harmful emissions. Poor quality fuel and oil can lead to increased pollution and damage to internal components. (4) Unauthorized modifications to your vehicle can lead to abnormal emissions. It is important to follow manufacturer guidelines and avoid any changes that may affect the vehicle’s emissions system. (5) Choose "green tires" or low-pollution tires. These tires are designed to provide excellent grip while minimizing rolling resistance, which reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. They are often made with silica instead of traditional carbon black, reducing the release of harmful substances during tire wear. This not only improves environmental sustainability but also enhances fuel efficiency. (6) Ensure that your vehicle is properly scrapped and replaced when necessary. Older vehicles tend to emit more pollutants, so upgrading to newer, cleaner models helps reduce overall environmental impact. (7) Minimize the effects of car pollution by avoiding unnecessary interior modifications. Do not use cheap air fresheners or perfumes, as they can release harmful chemicals into the cabin. In heavy traffic or when following a vehicle with high emissions, close the windows and switch the air conditioning to recirculation mode. Always check for leaks under the hood and on the chassis. If a leak is detected, avoid using the air conditioner. Never leave the AC running when the vehicle is parked, as it can accumulate dust and mold, leading to poor air quality inside the car. To prevent this, run the AC on maximum airflow for 30 minutes periodically. Also, keep the area around the air vents clear to ensure proper ventilation and air circulation.
