They are responsible for cutting the steel strips online, enabling the products to be properly wound. The normal operation of the flying shears directly affects the overall performance of the production line. Due to its critical importance and the secrecy surrounding foreign technology, the flying shear is one of the few key pieces of equipment that has traditionally been fully supported by foreign suppliers. The weak point of the flying shear lies in the cutting edge. Because the blade is arranged in an arc on the drum, the shearing process starts from the center and gradually moves outward. The initial gap between the cutting edges is only 0.03 mm, making it extremely challenging to accurately locate the contact point and measure the clearance when replacing or adjusting the blades. This has long been a technical bottleneck. Gu Bingfei's invention of the flying shear inspection platform and the corresponding adjustment process has addressed these challenges. It enables precise control over the bite point position and accurate measurement along the cutting edge.
