Shengli Oilfield's Gudong Plant Three Mining Center has recently successfully developed a balanced low-cut-off control valve, enabling the injection pump to deliver polymer solutions to multiple wells simultaneously. Due to the significant mechanical shear viscosity loss of polymers, it is essential for the regulating valve to be fully open or closed during the delivery of the polymer medium. Otherwise, excessive shear could occur, leading to reduced efficiency and performance. As a result, conventional injection pumps typically only supply polymer mother liquor to one well at a time.
To address this challenge, the center introduced an innovative conical design for the valve core, combined with the use of surfacing alloy materials that offer strong resistance to erosion. This ensures reliable sealing and long-term durability under harsh conditions. Additionally, the valve's drive system incorporates step-down sealing technology, allowing for precise and flexible adjustment of the valve opening.
Testing results have shown that the new control valve offers high regulation accuracy, ease of operation on-site, and excellent viscosity retention. When the valve is fully open, at 2/3, 1/2, or 1/4 opening, the viscosity retention rate remains above 98%. These improvements significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of polymer injection processes in oil fields.
The newly developed control valve has now been submitted for national patent protection, marking a major technological advancement in the field of oilfield injection systems. This innovation not only improves operational efficiency but also reduces maintenance costs and downtime, making it a valuable asset for future applications.
It also solves the problem that the general filter oil may flow in one direction and filter, simplifies the pipeline of the system, saves space, and makes the system layout more compact. The filter adopts imported glass fiber filter material, which has the advantages of high filtration precision, strong oil passing ability and large pollution absorption.
