Feng Jiayu Anshan Iron ore is a type metamorphosed sedimentary deposits, ore beneficiation plant designed annual processing 800,000 t, concentrator using magnetic separation stage grinding fine sieve closed process. The iron content of tailings is generally between 7% and 8%, and the emission concentration is 5% to 6%. The iron minerals in the tailings are single magnetite and its lean organisms. The gangue minerals are mainly quartz , mica and horn. amphibole and plagioclase and so on.
In order to improve the process and make full use of iron ore resources, the concentrator uses HS-φ1600mm×8 disc magnetic separator to recover the coarse concentrate directly from the tailings. The original φ426mm cast iron pipe was changed to the open trough, and the existing tailings discharge height difference was used to make the re-elected coarse concentrate flow to the fine sieve upper pumping tank, and then fed into the second section φ2.7m×3.6m ball mill . mill. Grinding, sorting, and transition operations all utilize the equipment of the original process. The tailings re-election process only adds one HS-φ1600mm×8 disc magnetic separator and 60m 2 workshop. The process flow after adding tailings re-selection is shown in Figure 1. The performance of HS-φ1600mm×8 disc magnetic separator is shown in Table 1.

Production practice shows that the tailings re-election can reduce the final tailings grade of the plant by 0.81%, and the annual recovery of qualified iron concentrates from the abandoned tailings is about 7,200 tons. The annual profit can reach 700,000 yuan.
