The device is the most important secondary processing device for upgrading the quality of Maoming Petrochemical Diesel. After its completion and production at the end of 2014, it ensures that the Maoming Petrochemical diesel product reaches the national IV standard and the sulphur content of the diesel product is less than 50ppm to complete the national and headquarters proposals for 2015. The device adopts Sinopec's proprietary fixed-bed diesel hydrogenation process technology and the total investment of the project is approximately RMB 670 million. The equipment is based on straight-run diesel, catalyzed diesel, coker diesel, residual oil hydro-diesel, and wax oil hydro-diesel as raw materials. It mainly produces refined diesel products with sulfur content below 10ppm and meets the national V emission standards, and it also produces by-products. Part of naphtha.

After the plant is put into operation, it can produce 3 million tons of national V diesel annually. By then, Maoming Petrochemical's annual diesel hydrorefining capacity will exceed 7.6 million tons. This is of great significance for the company to break through the bottleneck of diesel refining capacity, expand the production of clean oil products, ease the shortage of diesel supply in Guangdong and Southwest China, and build a world-class large-scale integrated petrochemical complex and petrochemical industry base.

The diesel hydrogenation unit, modified and expanded in the refinery, includes three parts: reaction, fractionation and desulfurization. At present, the project design is in the detailed design stage. Fourteen long-period devices such as reactors, circulating hydrogen desulfurization towers, high-pressure heat exchangers, cycle gas compressors, raw material pumps, poor-lean solvent pumps, thermal highs, and low-heat lows have been ordered in advance. Maoming Petrochemical formed a diesel hydrogenation project department to strengthen project management and ensure the smooth implementation of the overall integrated control plan.
