In order to control the exhaust emissions of motor vehicles, China began to implement the first-stage limit of national motor vehicle pollutant emissions in 2000, that is, the national standard. On July 1, 2004, it was upgraded to the National Standard.
On January 1, 2008, more than 3.5 tons of diesel vehicles began to implement the national three standards; on July 1, the same year, diesel vehicles below 3.5 tons followed up. Anyone who fails to meet the National Standards shall not be allowed to sell or register. The national standard vehicle that has been purchased and put on the card is not affected.
On January 1, 2012, more than 3.5 tons of diesel vehicles were implemented in the national four standards; on July 1 this year, diesel vehicles under 3.5 tons were followed up.
On June 8 this year, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Standards Committee approved the issuance of the National Standard for Automotive Diesel, which stipulated that the sulfur content per kilogram of diesel oil should not exceed 10 milligrams, equivalent to the EU standard. The transition period will be mandatory from January 1, 2018 until the end of 2017.
From national 1 to national 5, bicycle pollution is reduced by 30% to 50% for each standard increase.
