Recently, CNOOC Energy Development Oil Production Service Company organized the “Ministry Mid-term Review Meeting of the Feasibility Study of Lingshui FLNG Project†in Shanghai. Experts from CNOOC Research Institute, CNOOC Limited Zhanjiang Branch, China National Offshore Oil and Gas Group, China Classification Society, and French Classification Society listened to the report of the joint project team of CNOOC Energy Development Oil Production Service Company and CSSC Group 708. The research results have achieved phase results in the selection of floating body, the selection of mooring system, the selection of cargo hold system, the ship system, the upper module, the external transmission plan and the overall layout. On the basis of affirming the preliminary research work, the experts pointed out the direction for the next step.
Unlike traditional FPSOs, FLNG's critical systems such as cargo hold systems, external transport systems and upper modules are more complex. To this end, the project team of CNOOC Energy Development and Oil Production Service Company has been stationed at 708 of China Shipbuilding Corporation since March this year, and has cooperated with the Ministry of Civilian Shipbuilding. It has worked with 11 foreign companies on cargo hold systems and single point systems. The topics of mooring, external transportation, side water intake, and upper crafts were exchanged, and the next cooperation intention was drawn up.
The project and ship type development of a number of FLNG, FSRU and LNG carriers undertaken by the 708 Civilian Shipbuilding Department in recent years laid the foundation for the development of FLNG engineering projects. The cooperation field between the institute and CNOOC has expanded from “oil field†to “gas fieldâ€.
